Invitation to Tender: Website Support Services

The Childhood Development Initiative (CDI) invites qualified bidders to submit proposals for the provision of Website Support Services for our two websites, www.cdi.ie and Doodle Den.

About CDI

CDI is funded under the Government’s Area-Based Childhood Programme (ABC). Established in 2007, CDI tests and delivers innovative early interventions for children, young people, families, and the wider community. Our mission focuses on improving health, educational, and social outcomes for children in disadvantaged areas, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based approaches and partnerships.

Tender Overview

CDI is seeking a service provider for a three-year contract starting in January 2025. The successful bidder will be responsible for hosting, maintenance, security, performance optimisation, and technical support for our websites. Key areas of service include:

  • Website Hosting and Backup
  • Maintenance & Updates
    • Regular updates for WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
    • Security patches and SSL management.
  • Security & Performance
    • Real-time malware scanning and performance optimisation.
  • Technical Support
    • 24/7 support, bug fixes, and troubleshooting.
  • Development & Customisation

Detailed Requirements

Bidders should ensure the following:

  • Hosting: Reliable hosting with 24/7 monitoring, daily backups, and disaster recovery options.
  • Maintenance: Regular updates and security patching for WordPress.
  • Security: Ongoing audits, malware scanning, and SSL certificate management.
  • Support: A dedicated helpdesk with 24/7 incident support.
  • Accessibility: Adherence to WCAG Compliance standards.
  • Development: Support for feature enhancements as needed.
  • Third-Party Integration: Support for tools like Mailchimp, Eventbrite, and Stripe.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold relevant insurance (Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, Employer’s Liability).
  • Be fully GDPR compliant.
  • Provide a current tax clearance certificate.

The budget for this project is €2,400 per annum.
