Organisation Overview
At CDI (Childhood Development Initiative), we pride ourselves on the quality of our governance, and take very seriously our responsibilities in relation to compliance, accountability, and transparency.
CDI is a registered charity and is also registered with the Company’s Office. We are fully compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Our Board of Trustees meet at least six times per year to provide strategic direction, expert guidance, and challenges to the organisation. In addition, CDIs work is informed by the members of five focused committees, which meet at least quarterly to fulfil the functions of the structure. Each committee has agreed terms of reference to guide its work, and a comprehensive handbook is in place for all Trustees.
The Board and its committees are people with a wide range of experience, knowledge, and skills. We ensure that membership includes the requisite research, financial, risk management and people management skills for any organisation to function efficiently and effectively. We are also committed to ensuring that at least three Trustees are drawn from the local community and are immensely proud that parents of children who receive our services are well represented across our structures.
In recognition of the value of lived experience, we also engage with parents and our wider service delivery partners to inform specific developments, and to inform our strategic planning. This enables us to stay abreast of current and emerging issues in the community, build on the strengths and align to the aspirations and needs of those living in disadvantage.
